Bio:
Mr. Chapman has served as an educator for 26 years as he begins his seventh year as an assistant principal. He grew up in North Carolina where he attended North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. While attending North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, he earned a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degree in Education. Mr. Chapman has also earned a certification in Curriculum and Instruction from North Carolina State University as well as a certification in Educational Leadership from the University of West Georgia.
Mr. Chapman's journey in education began as a classroom science teacher, where he developed a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by both students and educators. This experience propelled him to take on leadership roles while serving as a classroom teacher, where he could have a broader impact on shaping the educational experience for all stakeholders.
Upon his relocation to Georgia in 2010, Mr. Chapman quickly became known for his commitment to student and teacher success as a department chair, member of the school’s leadership committee, implementation of Professional Learning Communities, and establishing a grass roots program for student achievement. As a result of these experiences, he firmly believes in the importance of personalized learning and has championed initiatives that support differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all students.
With an unwavering dedication to professional growth and staying abreast of current educational trends, Mr. Chapman consistently seeks out professional development opportunities. In his efforts to stay updated with the latest research and best practices in education, he has become IB certified, AVID certified, and has worked with the college board.
After serving as a classroom science teacher for 16 years, Mr. Chapman has served as a STEM Coordinator, Instructional Coach and Assistant Principal. He is extremely excited to share with Roswell High School and its community his commitment to educational excellence, his collaborative approach, and his passion for student success.
Mr. Chapman is the father of two beautiful daughters, Alexandria and Alesiah.
