PTSA Scholarships
2025 PTSA Senior Scholarships: Summaries and Basic Criteria — Reference
Basic Criteria: Applicant must be a graduating senior who is a member of the PTSA by no later than March 7, 2025. Join PTSA HERE. Applicant must answer specific questions write an essay using the prompt and obtain at least one (1) recommendation, but no more than two (2), from a teacher and/or from a moderator, employer or coach. Upload all necessary documents to the online application site by March 7, 2024. Recommendations forms are on the PTSA website or in the application. Do not attach a resume. Falsified applications will be disqualified.

The Dede Rehkopf Performing Arts Scholarship – $1500
Sponsored by Dede Rehkopf and Members of the PTSA
The Dede Rehkopf Performing Arts Scholarship is awarded to a Roswell High School graduating senior who excels in the Performing Arts. All Performing Arts are considered for this scholarship including, but not limited to: all aspects (cast, crew, etc.) for theatre, band, chorus, orchestra, dance as well as work in Broadcast Video. Lifetime PTSA MemberMrs. Dede Rehkopf, a parent of a 1989 RHS Hornet and grandparent of a 2023 and a 2026 Hornet, has been instrumental in many PTSA and school initiatives including transitioning the school newspaper operations to the computer age in the 1980s.
The Literary Arts Scholarship – $1000

The Literary Arts Scholarship is awarded to a Roswell High School graduating senior who excels in the Literary Arts. All Literary Arts are considered for this scholarship including, but not limited to all writing such as non-fiction/journalism, fiction, poetry, screen, play and script writing, etc. Kathryn Mulkey, Attorney at Law, is a Roswell High School graduate, class of 1994 and mother of Claire ’22 and two current RHS students. Kathryn also serves as one of our PTSA newsletter editors.
The Visual Arts Scholarship – $1000
Ssponsored by the Nitzken Family and The Scene is Set, LLC
The Visual Arts Scholarship is awarded to a Roswell High School graduating senior who excels in the Visual Arts. All Visual Arts are considered for this scholarship including, but not limited to: 2D and 3D work such as Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, Graphic Design, Ceramics, Jewelry, Textile, Photography and Film. Mike and Pam Nitzken are the proud parents of two Hornet graduates, Emma ‘17 and Abby ‘19. Pam, Creative Director at the Scene is Set and FCS storyteller, developed the Roswell High School Brand Identity and designed “A Flight Through Hornet History,” a permanent exhibit documenting the school’s history since 1838.
The Robert J. Boyd Academic Excellence Scholarship – $1000
Sponsored by Members of the PTSA
The Robert Boyd Academic Excellence Scholarship is awarded to a Roswell High School graduating senior who excels in academics and who has made positive contributions to the school and community. The recipient of the Academic Excellence Scholarship must have a GPA of 92 and above, demonstrated bold choices in coursework and has performed in leadership roles on and off campus. The PTSA created this first scholarship in 1990 to honor Robert J. Boyd who served as RHS principal from 1982 to 1989.
The Hard-Working Hornet Scholarship – $500
Sponsored by Tutor Doctor Roswell
The Hard-Working Hornet Scholarship is awarded to a Roswell High School graduating senior who demonstrates good character through hard work on and off campus. Tutor Doctor Roswell’s Carey and David Grucza’s children are all Roswell High School graduates: Sarah ’11, Rachel ’14 and Noah ’18.
The Dr. Robert Shaw Hornet Pride Scholarship – $1000
Sponsored by The Legg and Lee Families and the PTSA
The Dr. Robert Shaw Hornet Pride Scholarship is awarded to a Roswell High School graduating senior who is a positive force uplifting peers, rooting for all Hornets on and off the Roswell High School campus and who is a great model of Hornet PRIDE: P-Purposeful, R-Resilient, I-Inclusive, D-Devoted, E-Empowered. This scholarship was created by RHS PTSA to honor Principal Dr. Robert Shaw who served as principal from 2017-2022 who embodied Hornet PRIDE. Laura Legg parent of a current Hornet and Elaine Lee, parent of Zach ’23 and a current Hornet served as RHS PTSA presidents and remain actively involved.
The Scholar-Athlete Scholarships (2) sponsored by Roswell High School $500 ea.
The Scholar-Athlete Scholarship is awarded to two Roswell High School graduating seniors who excel in academics AND athletics. The recipients of the Scholar-Athlete Scholarships must have a GPA of 88 and above and have earned an Athletic Letter or are on track to earn an Athletic Letter by May 2025.
The Entrepreneur Spirit Scholarship sponsored by The Curtin Team, Keller Williams Realty $1000
The Entrepreneur Spirit Scholarship is awarded to a Roswell High School graduating senior who has demonstrated tenacity and an entrepreneurial aptitude on and off the RHS campus. Tom Curtin, RHS class of 1991, and his wife Joanne own and operate The Curtin Team, a local real estate sales team in Roswell. They established this scholarship to encourage students who demonstrate a high level of entrepreneurial spirit, who value the way business success can positively impact society, and who are willing to create their own opportunities.
The Cosmetology Scholarship – $1000
Ssponsored by the Bullman Family, Salon de la Vie
The Cosmetology Scholarship is awarded to a Roswell High School graduating senior who excels in their studies in cosmetology pathway. The applicant must either have completed (or will complete) a CTAE Pathway OR have taken one class in Cosmetology AND have completed (or will complete) an internship, or Work Based Learning semester in a related field. Angie and Douglas Bullman, owners of Salon de la Vie are parents to Emma ’21 and Bryce ’23.
The CTAE Scholarship – $500
Sponsored by the Kadrich Family and Turf Masters Lawn Care
The CTAE Scholarship is awarded to a Roswell High School graduating senior who has completed a CTAE pathway (3 classes) or on track to complete a CTAE Pathway by May: Architectural Drawing and Design, Broadcast Video Production, Construction, Computer Science, Engineering and Technology, JROTC, Marketing and Management, Personal Care Services -Cosmetology and Web Digital Communication. Turf Masters Lawn Care’s Sally and Andy Kadrich have three RHS graduates: Elizabeth ’12, Michael ’14 and Julia ’18. Sally serves as the Committee Chair for Backpacks of Love, a Student Services Program.
The Service to Others Scholarship – $500

The Service to Others Scholarship is awarded to a Roswell High School graduating senior who has tirelessly served others volunteering their time and talent in the community. Terra Mia Outdoor Design’s Silvina Martinelli Klaas is the parent of two Roswell High School graduates.
The Math Excellence Scholarship – $500
Sponsored by Warren Burns and Roswell Mathematical Society
The Math Excellence Scholarship is awarded to a Roswell High School graduating senior who excels in the study of Mathematics both in rigorous coursework and math-related activities on and off campus. Warren Burns is a first-year sponsor of the Math Excellence Scholarship at Roswell High School where Harrison ’23 graduated and one more child is still a student.
The Make A Difference Scholarship – $500

The Anne Fallon Make A Difference Scholarship is awarded to a Roswell High School graduating senior who is leaving RHS a better place than when they arrived. The applicant will demonstrate how they have made a lasting positive difference in some way to Roswell High School. This scholarship was created to recognize the former PTSA Senior Scholarship Chair Anne Fallon for making a difference in the Senior Scholarship Program. Anne led a small but mighty group to grow the scholarships from two in 2014 (since 1993) to 20 scholarships in 2023. Anne Fallon is parent to Hornet graduates Fiona ’18, Jack ’21 and Kevin ’23.

The Stand-Out Scholarship – $500
Sponsored by Tran Bui Productions & the PTSA
The Stand-Out Student Scholarship is awarded to two students who score the next highest in the evaluation process from the first 14 scholarship applicant pools. Tran is the parent of two current Hornets and serves as the PTSA Communication VP.
The Jerome Huff Inspiration Scholarship (2) – $1000 each
Sponsored by Turf Masters Lawn Care & Karen Faber/Shawn DoVale, Harry Norman Realtors (chosen by Student Services) The Jerome Huff Inspiration Scholarship is awarded to a Roswell High School graduating senior who has overcome difficulty but who has not let it deter their path for success. This scholarship was created by RHS PTSA to honor Principal Jerome Huff when he retired in 2017 after serving as Principal for six years.
